The way One Should PrayBy Saleem Saim
What do I wanna say… When I raise my hands to pray?
My needs, wishes, wants, desires Are hidden not to His mighty eye My lips break not, I feel on fires Heart cries with a silent sigh
I know He knows, I know He listens Even to what I try not to speak But I must beg, my moans tag, since He likes outburst, not an inner squeak
He sits in wait, closest to crest Ready to my asking His grace My Lord is great, His gift the best Then why be not a slave in face
That’s how now I wanna say… When I raise my hands to pray
